REVEREND BEAT-MAN & MILAN SLICK
Reverend Beat-Man and Milan Slick met in 2020 in the midst of the pandemic when they collaborated on the soundtrack for Ana Lily Amirpour's vampire film “A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night.” They formed a stage duo and played at venues including the renowned “Super Sonic Records” in Paris and the legendary “SO36” in Berlin, before recording an album together with Béatrice Graf and Benjamin Glaus. Under the name “Reverend Beat-Man and the Underground,” they produced this as part of the “Rocklette PALP Festival”—a soundtrack to a macabre dance party for the demise of humanity. For this band project, Reverend Beat-Man, the “super primitive rock ‘n’ roll trash, hi-energy, lo-fi one-man band,” meets the cultured, clever, playful, and dark Milan Slick. From March 4 to 6, 2025, they recorded their first joint album, “death crossed the street,” with Sebastian Zwahlen and the unique Robert Butler (Miracle Workers) at the former “Züri West” studio. The album will be released on September 26, 2025.

Reverend Beat-Man is actually a one-man band with a mission: blues trash and wild rock ‘n’ roll. Born in Bern, Switzerland in 1967, the summer of love and hate, he has been touring since 1992, first as “Lightning Beat-Man,” then as “Reverend Beat-Man One-Man Band“ and with his band ”The Monsters.“ He has played all over Europe, North and South America, Japan, Vietnam, New Zealand, Australia, Africa, at the legendary ”CBGBs,“ at the ”Montreux Jazz“ and ”Muddy Roots“ festivals, etc. In 1992, he founded his label ”Voodoo Rhythm Records," which still exists today. If he were a politician, even his enemies would respect him (the Swiss federal government). He was nominated for the Swiss Music Prize in 2014, won the local music prize as the most influential musician in Bern, and runs a record and souvenir shop there.

MILAN SLICK
Singer-songwriter Milan Slick (born in 2004) is still at the very beginning of his career, but has already collaborated with renowned artists such as Mario Batkovic and Birdman Jäggi, as well as his own band “Fatigues.” His music reveals influences ranging from Nick Cave to David Bowie, but also the emergence of an idiosyncratic young voice that we hope to hear a lot more of in the future.

An insight into the band life of five Generation Z world-weary individuals...
In 2018, the two lead singers from Munich, known by their nicknames “Spüli” and “Dodo,” founded the music group. Armed with a ukulele and their unfailing DIY attitude, they wrote numerous “bedroom pop songs” and released them on SoundCloud. In early 2022, they went live with three new members: “Eisbärlars” (drums), ‘Liv’ (bass), and “Nico” (guitar). Shortly thereafter, they became part of the non-profit record label “Schaufel und Besen Records.” Their setlists became longer, more colorful, and more political. Since most of them are Flinta*s themselves, the artists also vocally advocate for queer-feminist values. The band describes their style as “indie punk pop whatsoever” because “genres are pretty overrated!” In the same year, they release their first two songs on Spotify. They record the single “Natürlich” live. They produce their second single, “Krebs und Perle,” with the help of digital elements, reaching 20,000 streams for the first time. The song is played on Bayern2's Zündfunk. This is followed by appearances on Radio 80000, Frequenz Magain, and Great Reset. In 2025, they manage to capture their most popular songs in a studio album called “Best of Greatest Hits.” Along with their independently printed T-shirts, they published the first issue of the DIY magazine “Rufo” with the help of their fans. Their most famous trademarks are their energetic live shows and their humorous approach to profound topics. At every show, they slip into costumes they have designed themselves. From the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” to their “favorite vegetables,” everything is included. With the overarching goal of entertaining the audience, every show becomes a unique performance for them as well.
